HOW TO MAKE YOUR NICHE BLOG UNIQUE
blogging. In this issue we are going to talk about why
having a great idea isn't always enough when it comes
to building your blog.
Because there are so many blogs and web sites about
blogs on the Internet, it can be tough to distinguish your
blogging web site from all the others. Whether you
are starting up a new web site aimed at bloggers or
whether you are looking to make your existing blogging
site more distinctive, the key to building and maintaining a
site that will capture the interest and attention of the
blogging community is finding your niche.
If you can fill a unique need in a way that no other blog does,
you'll be able to build a lasting readership with your visitors.
Once you have discovered a niche, you will still have a lot to
do, but finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to
begin.
Every great blog starts with a great idea, and you can't build
a long-lasting successful blog without one. There are so many
great sites for bloggers today, and competition for readers
is fierce. To make your blog stand out from the rest,
you will need to offer something that no other blog
offer, or you will need to do the same thing that an
already popular blog does but even better!
One way to discover an ideal model for your blog is to look
at other blogs that have successfully captured a big audience.
Then determine if you can use some of their strategies to help
realize your vision. Of course, you will also need to add
a unique flair to your project to set it apart from your
competition.
Many people agree the blogs that do the best in today's
market are the ones that have the most personality. So, another
important thing to consider is how you can give your blog a
unique and attractive feeling by adding your own personality
to your blog's design and content.
Once you have a great idea for your blog, have pinpointed a
special niche that you are well equipped to fill, and have
infused the site with your own personality, the next step is
figuring out how to get the word out to your audience or market.
So as you can see in the long run, a great idea just isn't
enough to make your blog a huge success. You will also
need a smart, practical marketing plan to draw readers to your site
and if you have great content, they will keep coming back!
Make sure you look for your next issue soon. We will talk.
about photo blogging. Is it right for you?

AN INTRODUCTION TO ELERT AND ARTICLE WRITING AND MARKETING
You can of course type your elert directly into the WYSIWYG viewer but if you take too long doing this you may be logged out or if you have any PC or internet connection problems you could lose your work so I always recommend creating the eLert outside of the WYSIWYG viewer and then copy and paste across.
Following are some tips on copying and pasting to ensure your eLert is viewed correctly once submitted.
• eLert Content Creation in MS Word: If you primarily create your eLert content in MS Word, you should copy and paste into a text editor such as a text file or note pad, this will remove any Word formatting and then copy and paste from the text file, note pad into the WYSIWYG viewer. Once in the WYSIWYG viewer you can then add links and images using the tools provided. See video number # 4
• eLert Content Creation using text file or note pad: This is the preferred tool. Using a text editor will remove any formatting and ensures correct viewing. See video number # 4
• eLert Content Creation using HTML editors such as MS Front Page. You can use HTML editors and then copy and paste directly into the WYSIWYG viewer. You may find that it views incorrectly on the index page at http://www.eLertGadget.com – if you notice any error messages such as 'HTML clipboard
General tips and advice:
• Always use the 'View' links provided so that you can view the eLert exactly as the end user will view it.
• Once submitted always go to http://www.eLertGadget.com to view your entry, if anything looks incorrect such as the HTML error message mentioned above please edit your eLert until it views correctly.
• Whilst on http://www.eLertGadget.com click on your eLert to view the page, this will be a different page as shown from the 'View' link from within your publisher account as each eLert is created in 2 formats.

Firstly, you need to login to your publisher account here:

7 WAYS TO CREATE YOUR ELERTS AND BEAT WRITERS BLOCK
Here are some helpful tips to help you source content for new eLerts:
1. Old Ezine Articles: This includes your archives
for articles that you have sent your ezine from
the past 10+ years. If you've created multiple
articles for each email newsletter issue, we
recommend that you break your old ezine articles
into single eLert chunks rather than multi-
topic eLerts. If you have large ezine
articles from your email newsletter archive,
consider breaking them down into 250-300 word
chunks rather than 1,000-3,000 word eLerts.
2. Old Original Forum Posts: If you've been on the
internet
you belong to a few forums that you might call
yourself a "resident expert" on. All of your
old forum posts that are greater than 250 words
in length will make great new eLerts that you
can put into distribution to create more traffic
and sales for your business, and enhance your
credibility.
3. Old Blog Posts: The whole point of blogging,
besides posting frequently, is that you can
easily syndicate your blog for others to read
via the RSS reader of their choice. Because of
the syndication orientation of blogging, your
blog posts that read greater than 250 words make
great eLerts that you can slap on a longer
title, that pitches your blog
website and put a fast 250+ articles into
immediate distribution.
4. Out of Date Books: Are you the author of a book
no longer in print? If you own the copyrights to
it, this is an excellent place to create
hundreds of quality eLerts with just a short
period of editing.
5. Current e-Books: Take 10%-20% of your hottest
selling ebooks and flip into eLerts designed
to entice your reader into wanting the complete
ebook. You still need to deliver real content
value here and not get skimpy or tease them with
"what they could learn if they bought your
ebook." Keep the eLerts short, with
bulleted or small numbered lists.
6. Top 10 or Top 7 eLerts: Everyone likes
content they can read very fast. Why not create
top 10 lists (or any number of "Top" things)
related to your niche area of expertise. To
begin, just create a headline such as "Top 7
Leaders Strategies For Newbie Managers" and
then number the list from 1-7. Come up with a
sub-headline for each tip and then do (1)
paragraph describing the tip. You'll find these
are easy to produce and crank out 5-10 of them
per day.
7. Keyword Research:
or any keyword research tool can discover topics
that people are currently searching for that are
related to your expertise. Use this as a
springboard to launch another 25 eLerts that
are 250-450 words, each related to answering or
providing short tips on how to solve or get more
out of the keywords they searched for.
Example: "Yoga" when entered into Google
tells me that I should write articles about
"Yoga Journals or Journaling" and about proper
form or different types of "Yoga Poses."
