AN INTRODUCTION TO ELERT AND ARTICLE WRITING AND MARKETING

Generally, most people will write their eLert or article outside of eLertGadget.com and then copy and paste this content into the eLert creation form.

You can of course type your elert directly into the WYSIWYG viewer but if you take too long doing this you may be logged out or if you have any PC or internet connection problems you could lose your work so I always recommend creating the eLert outside of the WYSIWYG viewer and then copy and paste across.

Following are some tips on copying and pasting to ensure your eLert is viewed correctly once submitted.

• eLert Content Creation in MS Word: If you primarily create your eLert content in MS Word, you should copy and paste into a text editor such as a text file or note pad, this will remove any Word formatting and then copy and paste from the text file, note pad into the WYSIWYG viewer. Once in the WYSIWYG viewer you can then add links and images using the tools provided. See video number # 4

• eLert Content Creation using text file or note pad: This is the preferred tool. Using a text editor will remove any formatting and ensures correct viewing. See video number # 4

• eLert Content Creation using HTML editors such as MS Front Page. You can use HTML editors and then copy and paste directly into the WYSIWYG viewer. You may find that it views incorrectly on the index page at http://www.eLertGadget.com – if you notice any error messages such as 'HTML clipboard
General tips and advice:

• Always use the 'View' links provided so that you can view the eLert exactly as the end user will view it.

• Once submitted always go to http://www.eLertGadget.com to view your entry, if anything looks incorrect such as the HTML error message mentioned above please edit your eLert until it views correctly.

• Whilst on http://www.eLertGadget.com click on your eLert to view the page, this will be a different page as shown from the 'View' link from within your publisher account as each eLert is created in 2 formats.
